Guillaume Ottaviani is a professional electric/double bass player based in Bristol, UK.

He studied Jazz and composition at the Paris College of Music and graduated in 2011.

Having rapidly build up a reputation as a reliable player covering Jazz, Latin and African music, Guillaume has and currently plays with a variety of Bristol based bands and artists.

Influenced by bassists such as Paul Chambers, Ray Brown, James Jamerson and Jaco Pastorius, Guillaume is performing and recording with Senegalese Jazz pianist Ibou Tall, African fusion band Mankala and Latin influenced singer/violinist Azhaar Saffar. He performed at events and festivals such as Jazz Cafe in Camden, Leicester Square Theater supporting Larry Carlton, Marlborough Jazz Festival, Shambala, Green Man, Colston Hall, Bristol Internation Blues and Jazz Festival, Bestival Festival and Wilderness Festival.

He is also active working as a freelance bassist with various Bristol based talented artists.

Besides working as a performing musician he has been working as an educator for more than fifteen years, releasing his first book in 2016: “Getting started on bass guitar” available on www.amazon.com, followed by “Slap Bass” released in 2018.
